St. Joseph’s ITI celebrated their 43rd Annual Day on the 22nd of March 2009 with an amazing technical exhibition which was followed by a cultural program. The whole function was very well attended there was a strength of around 900 persons present at the program.
Each trade conceived and developed a project on their own under the guidance of their instructors some trades even contributed two and three exhibits. Guests were greeted by a power point presentation at the very entrance to the exhibition, which displayed the all that went into the preparation of the exhibition. Some of the projects were spectacular, like the Revolving stage prepared by the Fitters and the expertise involved in the making of the goods carrier (lift) again by the fitters. The Electronic Mechanics prepared an ‘Electronic Eye, Digital opening Alarm, digital Security system circuit and that is only to mention a few of their projects. The MMV trainees worked diligently on a Simulator of a starting circuit and the model of a real ‘Go cart’. The electrical mechanics trade put up a project on the different types of house wiring which could withstand calamity and the running of lights with motors (emergency lights). There were demonstrations mainly for entertainment prepared by the COPA trade, which was very interesting for one and all. The RAC trade also prepared a working model of a water cooler, refrigeration, cold store and Air-Conditioner.All said and done each and every project depicted a very good command over the particular trade together with the use of modern technology. There was an overwhelming response to the exhibition. On the first day itself, approximately (600)six hundred people visited, on the second day too, about five to six hundred visitors from the local schools and two Government ITI’s came and were full of praise for everything on display, a similar number of visitors is expected on the final day. This in itself was a great encouragement and motivation for our trainees. The exhibition was followed by an entertainment program which had items in English, Marathi and Hindi. The audience did not get a chance to get bored. The Principal, Amar, delivered the Annual Report. Rev, Fr. Mario, the Rector Director’s speech was inspiring. The chief guest was Mr Alex Lobo, a very successful entrepreneur, who also spoke about the necessity of hard work and its rewards. Deserving trainees of the last academic year were awarded for their performance. At the end of it all, it can be rightfully said that all the hard work and effort of the instructors and trainees paid off, and at the same time, the areas which fell short were also noted so that we could reach even greater heights in the years to come! |
