TOGETHERNESS IS FAMILY

SJITI Annual Day 2008

                A day to remember, a day that will go down in SJITI history as a very memorable day. 6^th April 2008 was set aside as the St. Joseph’s ITI  Kurla’s  42^nd  Annual day. After a real grueling month long preparation of both the exhibition and cultural items, the day finally arrived. The theme for the evening was, ‘Togetherness is Family’ a very apt theme since all at SJITI, the staff and the students are like one big family.

The function began with the parents of our students going around to see the exhibition. Our chief guest Rev. Fr. Godfrey D’Souza, vice provincial Mumbai  province, along with Rev. Fr. Mario Vaz rector, Don Bosco Kurla, other dignitaries,  Fr. Crispino  D’Souza, principal Don Bosco Matunga,  Bro. Micheal Condilac, from Bosco Boys Home Borivli, Fr. Benny from Shilong, also went around to see the exhibits. Then came the cultural programme which started off with our chief guests and our guests of honor being escorted in the Fr. Santino Mondini  auditorium by student escort led by the SJITI students performing Lazim. It began with a power point presentation of our theme accompanied aptly by the words of the song. The welcome note, Fr. Rector’s speech and Fr. Godfrey our chief guests address were short and sweet but very meaningful. Fr. Godfrey and Fr. Rector spoke the words of encouragement, motivation and appreciation. The annual report spoke the volumes of tasks and achievements during the year 2006-2007. Our cultural items mainly dances to the lines of different languages were very entertaining and kept all our guests amazed and excited  throughout the evening.

                Team work and wonderful co-ordination between the various committees made this day a success and memorable. Under the leadership or our vice principal Sir Amar all performed as one strong motivated unit,  this enabled us to bring to reality our theme, ‘Togetherness is Family’.

                Long live this spirit in SJITI. We move into a new academic year with renewed spirit and above all a very strong positive attitude taking everything in our stride as opportunities.
