16th October 2006 was a historical day for St. Joseph’s Industrial Training Institute Kurla. On this day the institute witnessed the launch of the Toyota Training programme for our ITI Motor vehicle Mechanics. This bond grew stronger when on 17th April 2007 different dealers of Toyota from all over Mumbai, Madhuban Toyota from Kurla, Shinrai Toyota from Worli, Millennium Toyota from Thane and Lakozy Toyota from Malad came to Don Bosco, Kurla to offer placements to the 2nd year Motor Mechanic trainees.
While Mr. Naveen from Toyota Kirloskar Motors Bangalore welcomed the students and guests, the rector of the institute Fr. Mario Vaz expressed appreciation of the efforts of Toyota to bring the Toyota dealers and the students face to face to understand the needs and opportunities in the automobile industry and for both parties to make their selection. Through a slide presentation every dealer showcased his establishment and elaborated on its salient features. The HR representative offered a picture of work environment, growth opportunities, employee remuneration and other perks and benefits. The 18 young trainees were beginning to understand their worth and how good training can provide great opportunities. After a short coffee break personal interviews followed. It was a decision of the trainees to choose their dealers. Of the eighteen trainees who were interviewed received placements. For Madhuban Toyota Ghatkopar 4 trainees were selected, for Shinrai Toyota Worli 3, for Millennium Toyota Thane 7 and for Lokozy Toyota Malad 2 respectively. |
